migrated from online shopping to online giving.
In 2011, online fundraising grew at 16% compared to 15% for
e-commerce. This is good news for
charities since it shows that donors are increasingly comfortable with giving

Online giving is still growing, although not
as rapidly as it did in 2010.
Online fundraising really shines in the
acquisition of new donors, with first time online gifts representing 37% of the
total median online revenue.
Small organizations increased their online
giving more than larger charities.
Sustainer or recurring online giving grew significantly, with an
increase of 38.7%.
